Maintenance is a key element of the National Trust's annual preparations for ‘putting their houses to bed'. To highlight the importance of this work the SPAB has provided some information panels which will be on display at Standen near East Grinstead during November.
The North of England Civic Trust will be holding an event at a regional Townscape Heritage Initiative site to highlight the needs for regular repair and maintenance of historic buildings. For further information contact the Trust.
Buildings in Kirkcaldy High Street have been cleaned up as part of a three week project carried out by Fife Council and funded by the Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) at no cost to the owners. Work as included clearing downpipes which had become overgrown with buddleia and self seeded vegetation.
